    Mitsubishi Development was established in Australia

    Central Queensland Coal Associates (CQCA) JV was established (Mitsubishi Development had a 15% stake) and CQCA Act was established.

    Warkworth JV formed

    Mitsubishi invested in a Hunter Valley coal mine.

  • 1982

    Ulan JV formed

    Another coal acquisition was made in New South Wales.

  • 1984

    Clermont JV formed

    Mitsubishi added another Queensland coal mine to its portfolio.

  • 2001

    The BHP Mitsubishi Alliance formed

    Mitsubishi Development became a 50% owner of several steelmaking coal mines in the Bowen Basin as well as an export terminal in Mackay.

    BMA's Daunia mine opened

    Daunia became operational with a mine life of 30 years.

  • 2014

    BMA's Caval Ridge mine opened

    Caval Ridge became operational with a mine life of 30 years.

    50 years of investment in Australia

    Mitsubishi Development celebrated the 50 year anniversary since its establishment.

    Optimisation of portfolio

    Mitsubishi Development optimised its portfolio through the divestment of its iron ore and energy coal interests.
