About Us

Our Alliance

Our Queensland-based joint venture BMA (BHP Mitsubishi Alliance) is the largest exporter of steelmaking coal in the world.

For more than 50 years, Mitsubishi Development has been a significant contributor to Australian local, state, and national economies through its investment and management of high-performing mining operations.

We have plans to expand our activities in Australia to keep delivering for regional communities and sharing our prosperity with all Australians. Our focus is investing in, developing and managing minerals resources assets in commodities such as steelmaking coal, copper, iron ore and aluminium. These commodities are expected to remain in solid demand in the long-term along with world economic growth.

Mitsubishi Development is proud of the role it plays in the critical partnership between Australia and Japan. Guided by our Three Corporate Principles, we remain focussed on meeting the needs of our stakeholders, customers and the environment.

As we move forward, we will continue to put people first, invest in technology to create a sustainable world, and focus on building a strong future for all.
