Modern Slavery Statement

At Mitsubishi Development, we are committed to doing business that generates value for society. At the heart of this approach is our Three Corporate Principles created by our parent company, Mitsubishi Corporation, and embedded into our business. These principles ensure we conduct business with:

  1. Integrity and fairness (“Shoji Komei”);
  2. Corporate Responsibility to Society (“Shoki Hoko”); and
  3. Global Understanding Through Business (“Ritsugyo Boeki”).

For more than 50 years, we have been proudly contributing to Australia’s regional, state and national economies through our business. In producing and exporting steelmaking coal, we are focussed on ensuring this opportunity does not turn into disadvantage for people working hard within our supply chains.

To this end, Mitsubishi Development has zero tolerance for the exploitation of individuals through the various forms of modern slavery.

Central to this approach is understanding and monitoring operations and supply chains relevant to our business interests; and implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to reduce the risk of modern slavery taking place.
